TRI-SPIRAL INTEGRAL HEAVY WEIGHT DRILL PIPE

Integral heavy weight drill pipe is manufactured from AISI 4142H-4145H modified drill collar material according to SY/T 5146-1997,thick-walled pipe called integral heavy weight drill pipe was developed to provided a gradual transition from the heavy drill collars to the relatively light weight drill pipe. This intermediate weight pipe with a wall thickness helps to prevent stress concentration at the top of the drill collars. It also allows you to drill at higher rpm, reduce torque and differential pressure sticking. It is intended primarily for directional drilling. Due to bends easily, it simplifies directional control and minimizes connection fatigue problems common to high angle or horizontal drilling. The reduced number of pipe failures and increased drill stem service also make it appropriate for some straight-hole applications.  

Hardbanding

The wear-resistance hardbanding is standard on tool joints connections and central upset. Hardbanding is made by an automatic machine after preheating the pipe and is followed by stress relieving.

The Type of handbanding includes Iron-Matrix powder alloy, Tungsten Carbide particle, and Arnco 100XT.

Standard Bands:

· One 4" wears band on both pin and box ends, plus one 1" band on 18 degree shoulder of box.

· Two 3" wear bands on central upsets

· The hardbanding is completing flush on both joints and 1/8" oversize on the central upset (full flush on request).

Internal Coating: The HWDP could be internally coated with DPC (Equivalent to TK34) as customers request which are able to prevent corrosion and extend life.
